Who hasn’t heard of the Cellucor C4 Pre Workout? In fact, I’m actually pretty sure it’s one of the best-selling pre-workouts right now.

Even though it’s gotten very popular over the last few years, let’s ask ourselves the following question…

Is the C4 Pre Workout by Cellucor worth trying?

Well, let’s cut this intro short and find out!

C4 is a pre workout supplement developed and sold by Cellucor. This supplement has been around for over 15 years and has many different supplements.

In case you haven’t heard of pre-workouts, it’s a supplement you take before exercising. Basically, it helps you boost your performance.

The C4 pre workout is by far their most popular product. You’ll find it in every supplement store as it has built quite a name for itself.

Let’s see what this product is really about and if it’s going to help you get the most out of your workout.

C4 Pre Workout Ingredients

As we all know, a proper formula really makes or breaks a good pre-workout product.

Since there is a lot of hype surrounding this product, let’s take a look at the ingredients found in the C4 pre workout.

The recommended serving size is one rounded scoop of roughly 6,5 grams. You’ll find 9 active ingredients in this pre-workout.

The first four ingredients are all vitamins. Those are Vitamin C, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid (Also a B Vitamin), and Vitamin B12.

Let’s take a look at some of the core ingredients that will help you enhance your workout intensity.

Beta-Alanine is a key ingredient found in many pre-workout supplements. It’s that one ingredient that causes your face and skin to tingle. Personally, I love it as it gets me hyped up to go workout.

The main effect of this ingredient is to increase time to exhaustion. It helps you get in more reps and sets. It’s really good to help you break down as many muscle fibers as possible.

 

It’s good to see that C4 also contains a decent amount of creatine. In case you didn’t know, it’s one of the few ingredients that has shown to enhance performance.

It’s known for increasing muscle growth, recovery and helps support other functions in the muscles.

However, for optimal results, we do suggest supplementing with additional creatine since it only contains 1500mg per serving.

One scoop in the C4 pre workout has 150mg of Caffeine Anhydrous. It’s a low to moderate amount compared to most products but just enough to get you going.

This stimulant will help you increase your performance in the gym. When I take Caffeine, I experience increased focus, energy, and performance.

Personally, I think the C4 Pre workout has a pretty decent formula. It has a good amount of Beta-Alanine, Creatine, and Caffeine to get you hyped up to hit the weights.

But, there are also some things I dislike about it. For example, it contains artificial sweeteners and colors. I’m not a big fan of those. I also feel that it’s lacking some more key ingredients that I would’ve loved to have seen added.

Do I Recommend C4 Pre Workout?

I’ll be completely honest with you guys, I’ve tried the C4 pre workout a dozen times and thought it was decent. Heck, I’ve even tried taking two scoops several times and I think it’s just not for me.

There are other products on the market that I have found to be much more effective. Personally, I’m a huge fan of Wrecked by Huge Nutrition.

Wrecked has over double the ingredients C4 has. I’m not even kidding, there is a huge difference when you compare the two. It’s also worth mentioning that C4 has a 6,5-gram serving size whilst Wrecked has a 21-gram serving size.

That is over three times as much. I can go on and on but you’ll probably understand why I prefer Wrecked over pretty much any other product.

The fact that it contains a lot of different ingredients backed up by science makes it a very effective pre-workout for enhancing workout intensity, pump, and focus.

C4 Pre Workout Side Effects

Many of you might wonder whether or not the C4 Pre workout has any side effects or not.

Well, first of all, I want to point out that it’s very important to stick to the recommended dosage of 1 scoop per day.

C4 contains caffeine which is a stimulant and if you’re not used to it, you can definitely experience some side effects.

So, if you’re new to these products try starting out with just half a scoop to assess tolerance. Also, don’t stack this product with any other sources of caffeine.

As somebody who is pretty tolerant to stimulants, I don’t get any side effects from this product. Just make sure to use it responsibly and you will be fine.

The Final Verdict

The Cellucor C4 Pre workout is a decent product. I’d say it’s a product for beginners that are looking for a low stimulant yet effective pre-workout.

Personally, I think there are better alternatives to C4. One of my personal favorites is Wrecked Pre Workout and Preseries Bulk by Transparent Labs.

It’s backed by science and will give you your money’s worth. Besides that, it’s very effective for pumps, focus, and explosive strength.
