There is some disagreement on whether or not a SARMs PCT is required. Some people are convinced that it’s an absolute must to use after a cycle of SARMs.
Others think that these compounds aren’t suppressive enough to require a post cycle therapy.
In this article, I’ll give you my personal opinion on whether or not a SARMs PCT is required.

Do I Need A SARMs PCT?
Well, it isn’t that simple. It depends on several factors, such as:
- Which SARM you are researching with
- How long your cycle will last
- Your natural hormone production
But, most of you will require a proper PCT to help enhance recovery.
In case you didn’t know, some SARMs are suppressive. This means that they will ”suppress” your body’s natural testosterone production. Of course, they won’t suppress you as much as other performance enhancers do.
The selective androgen receptor modulators such as Testolone (RAD-140) and S-23 are known to be very strong. Because these compounds are more suppressive, it increases the chances of requiring a SARMS PCT.
Once your cycle is finished, your body might need a SARMs PCT to help restore it’s testosterone levels.
But when it comes to compounds such as MK-2866 (Ostarine) and Ligandrol (LGD-4033) one might not be needed. Of course, you don’t want to be using PCT compounds when it isn’t needed as they can also carry side effects.
Everybody experiences different levels of suppression. Your hormone production might recover faster than someone else’s.
Personally, I would always have a mild Post Cycle Therapy on hand to make sure I recover properly. I also use Annihilate, a muscle-building supplement during PCT because it helps me maintain my mass and makes sure I don’t lose mass or strength.
It’s also worth mentioning that Stenabolic, Cardarine, and Ibutamoren do not require a PCT.
LGD 4033 PCT
When it comes to building lean mass and strength, a lot of people will run LGD 4033. It’s stronger than Ostarine but isn’t as effective as Testolone.
This compound can be suppressive, but it’s nothing too heavy. When you run it at 2.5mg to 10mg for maybe 6 weeks you should be fine with just Rebirth as your LGD 4033 PCT.
But, when you start running it at 20mg for let’s say, 8 weeks, it becomes a different story and your natural testosterone levels will take a huge hit.
I’ve done 2 cycles with Ligandrol and Ibutamoren. For both of them, I just used Arimistane to recover. Perhaps I could’ve recovered without it but with this compound, I wasn’t too sure. Better safe than sorry.
On the other hand, I have heard of people that required something a bit stronger to help them recover from this compound. Personally, I’m not a big fan of the heavier post cycle therapy protocols.
The heavier stuff can also have some serious side effects which I would rather avoid.
Based on my research, the majority of the people seem to do fine with just a mild protocol.
Ostarine PCT
Ostarine is a very popular SARM because it’s great at holding onto lean muscle mass. Most bodybuilders use it during a cut, including myself.
There is a lot of research available on this compound and compared to the others, I’d say it’s the mildest one. This is also one of the main reasons a lot of you will use it for your first research.
Do I Think You Need A PCT After Ostarine? Yes, but just a mild over the counter product.
To give you an idea, I have used it several times. I’ve run it from 10 to 30mg a day for 8 to 12 weeks and recovered perfectly fine with just Rebirth as my PCT. Keep in mind, 30mg is considered to be a high dosage so you should be fine running it at lower doses.
What is also important is that you need to be sure that you’ve purchased real SARMs. Make sure to purchase them from reputable sources like Sarms4You. I’ve heard people buy from unreliable sources and receive prohormones. This is something you don’t want to happen.
As I previously mentioned, it’s a good idea to have something on hand in case you feel suppressed.
A great product is Rebirth PCT by Huge Nutrition as it contains Arimistane and a few other ingredients that have been proven to boost testosterone.
But, you definitely don’t need strong compounds such as Clomid or Tamoxifen. When using them for a light cycle, you’re probably going to do more harm than good.

Of course, I’m not going to be able to recommend just one product for every single cycle out there.
